Rosie's Ivy.

Every now and then, I like to throw in a totally random post. And this is that post.
I posted this on April 10, 2009:

Under My Deck.

I bet everyone's been wondering how much ivy grows in one year. Come on. You know you have.
This is my ivy last year. (was?)
And here it is this year. So now you know. And this ivy is growing on the south side of the house underneath a deck. ... End of post ... Fast forward to July 2011.
Here's my ivy today. Just thought you'd like to know. And now, you do. Little esoteric nuggets of information and experience. This is my gift to my readers. And you're entirely welcome.

It's pretty variegated ivy. But just let me know if you want to know how much it cost us to replace siding damaged by ivy a couple of years ago.

Outside a container, ivy is evil.

Marion, you're a killjoy.

We planted some(reportedly from the grave of Edgar Allen Poe) a couple of years ago, in the shade of a live oak; where nothing was growing. My wife said the first year it sleeps, the second year it creeps, and the third year it leaps!
Reminds me of an old song that no one has sung me lately:
"Tell me why the stars do shine; Tell me why the ivy twines. Tell me why the ocean's blue; And I will tell you just why I love you...."
