Blogger Strikes Again. I Hope My Readers Can Help Me.

I am in a quandary. Actually two quandaries. I was hoping there was a bloggermeister out there to offer suggestions. Predicament #1: I can no longer add labels/tags at the bottom of each post. I evidently have reached the limit for tags. And that limit would be 2000. Blogger very rudely and redly told me I'd reached the limit of labels for one blog. Here's the error page:

Label limit exceeded

Blogger currently allows a maximum of 20 labels per post, and 2000 unique labels per blog. To get rid of this message, you will have to correct the appropriate label counts.

I have tried deleting earlier tags to no avail. Apparently Blogger can add, but it cannot subtract. Had I known I had a finite number of tags available, I would have been sure the post was tag-worthy, before I carelessly consumed a tag. Points, Kathy, for the tag-worthy reference. Now I like my tags. People can search for whatever they're looking, and if I have it in a tag, they can get to my blog. My Feedjit shows me where my hits are coming from and whether a reader got to my blog directly, as in typing in my web address or Googling "Rosie Hawthorne" or "Kitchens Are Monkey Business," or if they were sent to my blog by whatever search engine they use by using my tags. Feedjit also lets my know the search phrase a reader used to get here. You can check this out for yourself. Just scroll down to "Live Traffic Feed" on the right hand side of my blog and click on "Watch in real time." I get the highest number of hits from people searching for "blackened mahi mahi," "galumpkis," "how to clean soft shells," "Giada's boobs," "chicken salad with pineapple," "dog vomit slime mold," "cleavage in the kitchen," "Ranch Dressing and diarrhea," "Sanda Lee screwed a monkey in my kitchen," and just lately, "What happened to Melissa d'Arabian." Oh, BTW, I can tell you what's going on with Mel. On Wednesday, I got this email from her: I actually just landed in new York an hour ago for the NY food and wine festival, and I'm also having a preproduction meeting tomorrow for season two of ten dollar dinners. I'll keep you posted on fun stuff as it comes up. Also just FYI I post updates on my facebook fan page.... Here's the link to the New York Food and Wine Festival, in case anyone's interested. And here's Melissa's facebook page. Where was I? Ahh yes, my quandary. Predicament #2. Blogger is not working correctly on my desktop. But it is working properly on my laptop. And I changed no settings on the desktop. When I go to "Edit posts," I only get a long list of my labels (tags) on the left hand side of the page. I get no list of the actual posts that used to be in the body. So I cannot edit on my desktop. Anybody have a clue about this? And if this happens on my laptop, I'm really screwed since I have lots of unpublished drafts.

When was the last time you cleaned up your desktop? Error-checked, defragged, cleared out all your cookies & temporary internet files, that kind of stuff?

I don't know if that would accomplish anything. Just a thought.

As far as the tags? I dunno. Doesn't that sound intelligent?

Did I give you a tag-worthy reference?

I'm still hurt that Melissa is ignoring me when I blogged her potato gratin first.

The "A blog may have at most 2000 labels" change is just too much. Its causing quite a riot at the Google Forums right now. http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/blogger/thread?tid=4844c90fd0e8a526&hl=en

People are switching to Wordpress because Blogger has gone too far this time. I think Google want people to leave Blogger, it's the only thing that make sense.

Tim, thanks for the link. I tried to leave a question on the forums about my other problem (not being able to edit posts) but every time I I tried to post the question, it told me my question was too long. I kept paring it until it was way shorter than some of the questions already on the forum, so I guess blogger is limiting all over the place.

It was very interesting for me to read that post. Thanks for it. I like such themes and anything connected to this matter. I definitely want to read a bit more soon.
