Mr. Hawthorne Makes A Quick Onion Soup.

Mr. Hawthorne decided to make a quick onion soup for lunch the other day. About a quart of water and an onion soup mix went into the pot to simmer. Yes. He Sandra Lee'd it.
Next he sliced an onion. Notice my lovely bouquet in the "flower arranging for dummies" vases.
I turned the "flower arranger" around so you could see my pretty "peppermint" rose. What's that you say, Xmaskatie? I didn't quite hear you.
Sliced onions went into the pot ...
... along with two cubes of beef bouillon. Le sigh. Why doesn't he just put a salt lick on the table, call it his tablescape, and be done with it?
He halved and toasted some of my pita bread, with mozzarella cheese on the one slice.
Mozzarella on the bottom, then toasted pita bread.
He poured the broth and onions into the dish and topped it with more pita and mozzarella.
Here it is ready for the oven. 350 degrees until the cheese is bubbly and browned. Maybe 20-25 minutes.
And here's his quick onion soup.
Mozzarella cheese is one of the most fun cheeses out there.
Here's Mr. Hawthorne playing with his mozzarella. Heh. Heh. (12)
I'm building my soup.
Gotta love that mozzarella.
You have to admit - this looks really good.
And it was.
