Rosie Makes Thanksgiving Stuffing.

Every year for Thanksgiving, Mr. Hawthorne buys a box of Stove Top Stuffing. He says the kids love it and he loves it. I despise it. The box of Stove Top is never used. I make a stuffing every year and I probably have 5 boxes of Stove Top Stuffing in my pantry. Like potato salad or cole slaw, everybody has a recipe for stuffing. I have no recipe. I'm just putting stuff together for stuffing and it's pretty darn good.
First, I tore a whole wheat baguette into pieces and sauteed it in butter along with some sage, oregano, and thyme. Pop into the oven to crisp.
Next, I cooked some sausage and added sliced mushrooms.
Celery and apples go into the mix.
Cook for about a minute. I like my celery crisp.
Add in the croutons.
Lastly, I added in some turkey stock. I loved the different textures. I loved the different tastes. I loved the flavors.
And guess what. No stuffing leftovers.
Yet another box of Stove Top Stuffing mush is added to my collection.

I just might have to try your version, Rosie. It looks good.

And I don't know why, but while reading your post, I had Nadia G's voice from Bitchin Kitchen in my head. It works. Tzaketa!

Stuffing is my favorite part of the turkey. Wait, that didn't come out quite right....
