Bye Bye Thanksgiving Turkey.


Several nights ago, Mr. Hawthorne took the turkey carcass, added some aromatic veggies, and cooked away.










Today, I cleaned out all the leftover parts and pieces and ended up with this cloudy, yucky looking, turkey jelly sludge.











Six aig whites later and a little magic and WALLAH!
Turkey consomme. Two quarts.
And it tasted DIVINE.

Hard to believe I got this out of that.

Goodness. You can see the cutting board through the broth!

And of course, I saved the leftover yolks for my Christmas baking arrruusssssiippppeees that call for just yolks.
