It is Saturday.
Still.
Day 12.
My second and last offering of the day is ...
Ghirardelli Mississippi Mud Bars.
Mississippi Mud Bars
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar, fimly packed
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 bar (4 oz.) Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar,
chopped and divided in 1/2
1 bar (4 oz.) Ghirardelli White Chocolate Bar,
chopped and divided in half
1 cup walnuts, chopped and divided in half
Rosie Note: Instead of Semi-Sweet,
I used Bitter-Sweet,
since that's what I had.
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Beat butter and sugar until light.
Add egg and vanilla,
beating at medium speed until fluffy.
Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt.
Stir in 1/2 of the semi/bitter-sweet and
white chocolates
and 1/2 cup of the walnuts.
Spread in greased, foil-lined 9-inch baking pan.
Bake 12-15 minutes until toothpick
inserted in center
comes out almost clean.
Sprinkle remaining chocolates over top.
Cover with foil.
Let stand 5 minutes.
Swirl chocolates.
Sprinkle with remaining walnuts.
Cool in pan.
Cut into bars.
I spread the mixture evenly in my prepared pan.
And baked in a 350 degree oven for 12-15 minutes
until a toothpick inserted in the center came out almost clean.
