Day 12 Of Rosie's Christmas Baking - Ghirardelli Mississippi Mud Bars.

It is Saturday. Still. Day 12. My second and last offering of the day is ... Ghirardelli Mississippi Mud Bars.
Mississippi Mud Bars 1/2 cup butter, softened 3/4 cup brown sugar, fimly packed 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 large egg 1 cup flour 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1 bar (4 oz.) Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar, chopped and divided in 1/2 1 bar (4 oz.) Ghirardelli White Chocolate Bar, chopped and divided in half 1 cup walnuts, chopped and divided in half Rosie Note: Instead of Semi-Sweet, I used Bitter-Sweet, since that's what I had. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat butter and sugar until light. Add egg and vanilla, beating at medium speed until fluffy. Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir in 1/2 of the semi/bitter-sweet and white chocolates and 1/2 cup of the walnuts. Spread in greased, foil-lined 9-inch baking pan. Bake 12-15 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out almost clean. Sprinkle remaining chocolates over top. Cover with foil. Let stand 5 minutes. Swirl chocolates. Sprinkle with remaining walnuts. Cool in pan. Cut into bars.
Brown sugar going into creamed butter.
Vanilla.
Chopped chocolates, halved.
Dry ingredients mixed in.
Chocolates stirred in.
And the walnuts.
Spread mixture into prepared pan.
Dixie is getting into the spirit of Christmas Baking.
I spread the mixture evenly in my prepared pan. And baked in a 350 degree oven for 12-15 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center came out almost clean.
I sprinkled the remaining chocolates over top.
I covered with foil for 5 minutes ...
... then swirled the chocolates.
Sprinkled walnuts on top.
Enjoy the Missippissie Mud Bars.
