Day 3 Of Rosie's Christmas Baking - Chocolate Pixies.

Day 3 of baking. First up - Chocolate Pixies.
Chocolate Pixies 4 1-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate 1/4 cup unsalted butter 4 large eggs 2 cups sugar 2 tsp vanilla extract 2 cups flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup chopped, toasted pecans 1/2 cup powdered sugar Melt butter and chocolate in large glass bowl in microwave. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating at medium speed. Gradually add sugar, then vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder, salt. Gradually add to chocolate mixture, at low speed until blended. Stir in pecans. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours. Shape into small balls, roll in powdered sugar, and place on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 300 degrees for 16-18 minutes. Cool on racks.
This chocolate smells divine.
Sugar goes in.
Of course, use the good vanilla. (I'm lookin' at you, Ina.)
Finally the flour gets added.
Oops. I wasn't paying attention exactly and was shooting pictures and the flour kinda spilled in and now I've got a flour blizzard everywhere. Note: Add flour gradually.
Lastly, add in chopped, toasted nuts. Chill dough.
Shape into little balls and roll in powdered sugar.
Ready for the oven.
Pretty. Pretty.
Yummy. Yummy.
