Day 7 Of Rosie's Christmas Baking - Brownie Squares In Basic Butter Cookie Dough Crust..

Rosie was a busy girl yesterday. Monday was Day 7. I've already made 2 double recipes of Basic Butter Cookie Dough and now I'm getting ready to use one of the prepared 9 x 13 pans of baked butter cookie dough to make Brownie Squares.
Brownie Squares 1 1/2 sticks butter 10 1/2 ounces fine-quality bittersweet chocolate (not unsweetened) 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar 3 eggs, lightly beaten 2 tsp vanilla 3/4 cup flour 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 3/4 tsp salt 1 1/2 cups walnuts, toasted and coarsely chopped buttered pan with Basic Butter Cookie Dough baked about 30 minutes at 375 degrees and cooled Here's the recipe for Basic Butter Cookie Dough (from my last post).
In a heavy saucepan, combine butter, chocolate, and brown sugar.
Melt, over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth.
Remove from heat, let cool a few minutes, then whisk in lightly beaten eggs and vanilla.
Add in salt.
Whisk in flour ...
... cocoa ...
Mix well.
Add in walnuts.
Pour into prepared, baked Basic Butter Cookie Crust.
Spread brownie batter evenly and bake until set, about 20 minutes in a 375 degree oven.
Cool completely before cutting into squares. One of these days, you'll thank me for this recipe. Really. You will.
