Day 2 Of Rosie's Christmas Baking - Sugar Cookies.

This is one of my all time favorite recipes. I got it from Jo, my neighbor from years ago. She's since moved to Homosassa, Florida, and I miss her. It's Sugar Cookies, with my red and green sprinkles.
Purty, ain't it?
Sugar Cookies 1 cup butter 1 cup sugar 1 cup powdered sugar 2 well-beaten eggs 1 tsp salt 3/4 cup salad oil 1 tsp vanilla 4 cups flour (sift before measuring) 1 tsp soda 1 tsp cream of tartar Cream butter and both sugars together. Beat eggs with salt and add to creamed mixture. Add oil and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Chill dough. Roll into small balls. Place on cookie sheet. Press balls down with the bottom of a glass dipped in mixture of colored sugars and nutmeg. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
Add eggs to the creamed mixture.
Vanilla.
Vegetable oil.
Finally the sifted flour.
I grated nutmeg into my green sprinkles.
Flatten each ball with a glass dipped in the sugar and nutmeg.
Ready for the oven.
Nutmeg going into red sprinkles.
Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
Isn't this festive?
The hint of nutmeg is a nice touch.
